Bioglitter® Pure has been independently tested by OWS nv to ISO14851 Aqueous biodegradation test. This fresh water biodegradability test proved that Bioglitter® Pure biodegrades in the natural environment. The vast majority of the biodegradable content of Bioglitter® Pure biodegraded in only 28 days.
The environmentally friendly glitter is made from natural compostable plant-based materials. It is EU certified biodegradable and will compost naturally in soil and seawater in the presence of bacteria- don't worry it won't biodegrade in the packet!

*The Shellac used in Bioglitter® is of natural and renewable origin. Shellac is
approved by the Vegetarian Society and is produced from the secreted resin left
behind by juvenile insects after they have swarmed and left the host tree. The
process causes no harm, distress or interruption of the life cycle of these insects and
is a natural and environmentally friendly process. The trees used are natural
growing and do not compete with land used for food production. Refinement is by a
solvent extraction process. The alcohol used in this is recycled and re-used in a
