30g Jar:

15g Shea Butter

15g Almond Oil

3-5 drops Essential Oils- ‘FeelBerlin’

Hello BioBunnies!

In this blog post, I want to show you how to make a deliciously divine body butter that can be whipped up super quick! It's a wonderfully easy recipe to moisturise & nourish your skin that also makes for a very sweet gift.

Why do we love this DIY body butter recipe? Your skin will feel soft & amazing, you can enjoy guilt free because you will be using only organic and vegan ingredients, it’s package free and smells incredible!!

All you will need is just 2 base ingredients in equal parts (1:1 ratio) : butter and oil. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer to whip it at the end is what will give you this fluffy deliciousness!

For the butter, we will use raw, unrefined shea butter as it will give the perfect fluffy, soft and creamy consistency to our lotion and it is not a heavy oil that will clog your pores. You can also use cocoa butter as it is rich in antioxidants.

The oil we will use is almond oil which is again light and rich in vitamin E.(Please note whether you can take the oils both externally and internally)

Step One:

Place the shea butter & almond oil in a bowl. Gently melt the ingredients over a bain-marie by sitting the bowl inside a pot with about an inch of warm water inside. Have it on a low heat to melt gently as not to overheat the raw organic ingredients. I like to use an old chop stick to gently stir & combine the ingredients. Once melted, remove from the heat.

**DISCLAIMER Be careful with the hot water**

Step Two:

Let the mixture harden and solidify by placing in the fridge for 20-30 minutes. When the mixture is hard and turns a white cloudy colour, then it is ready to be whipped.

Step Three:

Remove your mixture from the fridge. If you find it is too hard, simply scrape it with a fork to soften it back up. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oils, I am using ‘FeelBerlin’ with vanilla, grapefruit & orange which smell lovely together. Start with a few drops. You can always add a couple more later if needed.

Step Four:

Now all we need to do is whip everything together until we reach a soft & fluffy consistency. Using a hand mixer works really well but you can also use a stand mixer. We recommend using a small bowl with an electric beater.

It will take around 3-5 minutes to obtain a light, fluffy and soft cream-like consistency and when it’s done it should stand up on it’s own and look like whipped cream. If it’s too soft, pop it back in the fridge for a little while and then whip again.

Step Five:

Now that we have our desired consistency & smell, we need to transfer this divine goodness into a clean recycled jar to enjoy!

I use this cream on my dry hands, on my body and even on my face after a shower or whenever I feel my skin is very dry. It should last around 3 months and they also make great eco-friendly gifts to give to loved ones! Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight and store in fridge on hot days.
